VOLUNTEER FAQs

How do I sign up to be a volunteer?

Volunteering Nella’s Place is simple. Fill out the online form and a member of our staff will contact you. You can also contact our volunteer coordinator at 513-954-0975 for additional information regarding volunteer opportunities.

What types of volunteer opportunities are available?

We are always in need of people looking to have a positive impact on the lives of the Girls o Nella’s Place. Opportunities range from sorting donations and preparing meals to tutoring to our residents and assisting our career counselors (upon the completion of additional training).

How do I become a member of the Board of Directors?

If you are interested in serving or know someone who would be a good addition to our board, you can self-nominate or nominate someone for a leadership position with the Nella’s Place.

Will I have to complete a background check before I can volunteer?

Yes. Because of the sensitive nature of our guests and their children, we must ensure the safety and privacy of our clients by providing a safe and nurturing environment.

Is there a dress code for volunteers?

All volunteers must dress appropriately when they show up to the Nella’s Place. Short shorts and tops that reveal bare skin will not be allowed, nor are open toed shoes such as sandals and flop-flops.

Can groups volunteer?

Yes! We welcome all groups and ask that each member complete a volunteer application form which includes a background check.

Can I serve my community service hours with the Nella’s Place?

We do NOT permit individuals to serve out court-ordered community service in any of our facilities. However, if you are looking to complete hours for educational purposes we will work with you to accommodate your request.
